ABOUT
I'm a Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) who has a MSW in Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary, a BSW from Dalhousie University and a BA in Political Science/French from the University of Alberta.
I work with first responders, members of the military, veterans, neurodivergence and people who are looking to overcome life's challenges. I’m a strong believer in both harm reduction and suicide prevention. Whether somebody is experiencing difficulties related to substances or mental health, I believe that it’s important to try to meet people wherever they are at so that we can work with them on their goals to build hope for the future.
I believe that mental health issues are often rooted in the things that have happened to us in life. It is for this reason that I have developed a passion for a therapy called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). This kind of therapy has a large evidence base, and is used to treat a variety of concerns including mood and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, acute stress disorders, PTSD and Complex PTSD. I've done several advanced EMDR trainings including Recent Traumatic Events protocol, EMDR 2.0, ego states and CPTSD intensives. I am also informed by Internal Family Systems, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, CBT, DBT and Narrative approaches to therapy.
